Hi!
I’m Leah Biery – a communicator, environmentalist, and non-profit leader (among other things). My happy place is helping organizations and businesses with a cause tell the world about their work. I am currently the Discovery Center Executive Director for Tampa Bay Watch.
My academic background is in zoology, specifically fisheries management. I have researched baboons in Tanzania and I have been a collaborator on marine conservation projects around the world. I was the Director of Communications for Sanibel Sea School, a fantastic organization with a mission to improve the ocean’s future through meaningful education. I was also a founding member of Mind Your Line, an initiative to reduce the impacts of improperly discarded fishing gear on wildlife. I have written for magazines, newspapers, scientific journals, and blogs. I have helped yoga studios, eco charter captains, charitable foundations and others develop their brands and build an online presence. I think caring for our planet, its creatures, and our fellow humans is a responsibility we should all take seriously and integrate into everything we do.
I am based in Florida. In my free time, I enjoy reading, yoga, paddling, walks with my dog, cooking and eating vegan food, and exploring near and far.
